Facility Spotlight – MB São Paulo, Brazil

Martin Brower first acquired their business in Brazil in 1982 and has since grown it to be one of their largest markets, distributing from 6 DCs to businesses such as McDonald's, Domino’s, Bob's, Giraffas, Pizza Hut, KFC and Subway. Their São Paulo, Brazil operations are made up of 3 facilities – distribution centers in Guarulhos and Jacareí and a corporate office in Osasco. Combined they employee +1400 people.

In 2023 a major renovation of the São Paulo facilities was completed – providing a beautiful corporate office space and state-of-the-art distribution center in Guarulhos for the team. Many of the renovations and upgrades made in Reyes Family of Businesses facilities are made to further our Reyes Cares promise of creating positive change in the communities in which we live and work.

In the corporate office: 100% LED lighting was installed, printers were reduced by 50% to minimize paper use and selective waste collection was added to impact sustainability goals positively. Two inclusive bathrooms were added, an elevator was installed and other building adaptations were added for those with special needs.

They also focused on creating collaborative and innovative spaces team: 9 phone/conference rooms (for 1, 2 or 4 people), 230 desks, open concept space for co-working, desks for wheelchair users, a new break room, a podcast room, and a special room named ‘Arena MB’ for employees to rest on break with sofas, televisions and board games. Overall, they increased the number of workplaces by approximately 30%.

In the distribution center: 130 employees prepare over 2000 SKUs to be delivered out of a nearly 300,000-square-foot warehouse – the largest for Martin Brower in Brazil. As part of the recent renovation, they drastically improved the efficiency of the building by adding an ethylene glycol (ethanol-based) cooling system, all-electric forklifts and pallet trucks, natural lighting through skylights to reduce daytime energy usage and automatic lighting throughout to make necessary lighting use as efficient as possible.
